About me

(excerpted from an online interview with Joseph V. Carusone conducted by Joseph V. Carusone on September 9th, 2016 to commemorate something or other)

What is your name? Joseph Vittorio Carusone.

How old are you? 33 years young.

Share a birthday with anyone cool? Yes, a famous comedian who starred in several sitcoms, and a train robbing murderer.

Where did you go to college? The school of hard knocks, my friend. The school of hard knocks.

I thought you went to SUNY New Paltz. Oh, yeah. My bad. Go Hawks!

Where you living these days? The 518.

Got a wife? Any kids? Yes, and thank you for asking. I have a beautiful wife named Sadrina and a handsome son named Colton. Wanna see them? (Mr. Carusone whips out his phone and shows me a photo of his wife and son. They are gorgeous, funny and charming)

Fave sports teams? I'm a huge Yankees, Knicks and Miami Dolphins fan. I'm a very minor fan of the NYCFC soccer team. If you forced me to pick a favorite hockey team, I'd pick the New Jersey Devils, but that's only because my hometown has hosted a Devils minor league team for years.

I would never force you to pick a favorite hockey team. Good, because that would be weird.

Fave book? No one has just one favorite book. This question is stupid. I'm going to name my desert island top ten: The Way Through Doors by Jesse Ball, Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger, Moon Palace by Paul Auster, A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin, The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, Factotum by Charles Bukowski, Rant by Chuck Palahniuk, A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway, and Wake Up, Sir by Jonathan Ames.

I respect the hell out of your ability to disregard the question I ask and improve it. Thank you. You should respect that.

Favorite band/artist? Radiohead is my all time favorite. But my musical sidepieces are Jack White and his assorted bands and projects, Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Interpol, TV on the Radio, Phantogram, Grizzly Bear, Sigur Ros and Talking Heads.

Favorite color? What? Who cares about that? Seriously. I refuse to answer that question.

Favorite food? Fine. My favorite color is blue. You win.

The power of invisibility, or the power of flight? I'd have invisible wings.

Favorite Bill Withers song about a lack of celestial illumination? Ain't No Sunshine.
